How do you know if your Air Con needs a re-gas?

Determining whether your air con is working or not is fairly straight forward, if you feel like the air blowing out the vents isn’t cool, or doesn’t seem any different whether the air con is on or off, it’s likely you need a re-gas. If you feel your car or van air conditioning is underperforming, get booked in with Auto Inspire for a performance test.

How can we help you?

We know how frustrating it can be when your air con packs in, especially during the summer months! Our expert team can take a look at your car air conditioning unit, to determine whether it just needs a re-gas, or whether there could potentially be a leak or problem with the unit.

At Auto Inspire, we offer both AC gases (R134A and R1234YF) meaning our service is suitable for any make or model.

Unsure which AC gas you require?

It’s not a problem if you don’t know which Air Con gas your car needs, we offer both gases and can therefore take care of your re-gas no matter which make or model you have. If you would like to determine which gas you will need (as R1234YF is always more expensive no matter which garage you visit), here is the information you will need in order to find out:

If your car was manufactured after January 2017, it will take the new R1234YF gas, which was introduced as it is more environmentally friendly. If your car or vehicle was manufactured before 2014, it will almost definitely need the old R134A gas. If you bought your car between 2014 and 2016, it could use either gas as the new R1234YF gas was phased in during this period – so check with your local garage if you don’t have the information to hand.
